5 Ways to Share #OrlandoLove with your Valentine

Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love and what better way to spend the day than sharing #OrlandoLove with your Valentine? Here are 5 of our favorite ways to experience Orlando together.

1.  Kick back at a coffee shop
The nationwide coffee shop craze is alive and well in Orlando! Craft + Common, a locally based coffee shop, is the perfect place to “brew” a new love or just catch up with a Galentine. Their relaxing, casual atmosphere that combines coffee, retail, and a new evening menu was born out of the owners’ cross-country travels and the desire to return to their Florida roots. Talk about exuding #OrlandoLove! Located in the heart of Downtown Orlando, you can top off your day or evening with a stroll around neighboring Lake Eola and a view of Orlando’s trademark fountain.

2.  Share a timeless tradition
There is something simply timeless about popping into the local ice cream shop to share a scoop of ice cream or a milkshake with someone special. Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream, a local, handcrafted ice cream shop, is the perfect place to indulge in some nostalgia. We love that what originally started as a job while going to school ultimately turned into a love of sharing yummy ice cream and creating smiles across Orlando!  After stopping in at their Audubon Park location you can continue exploring the Audubon Park Garden District with stops at East End Market filled with artisanal vendors and Red Light, Red Light with its wide selection of craft beverages.

3.  Plan an art crawl
One of the many things we love about Orlando is the vibrant arts scene. Lately, we can’t help but notice that our streets are coming alive with fantastic art, too! From wall murals and storm drains to trash bins and utility boxes, art is popping up all around Orlando. Make a date with your valentine to explore some of the different forms of urban art around town. Whether you are looking to explore a specific area of town or a Valentine appropriate theme of love, a little research online will help you plan the perfect art crawl. Be sure to make time to visit the local restaurants and shops you discover on your crawl as well.

4.  Enjoy downtown
We love that Central Florida has seen the reinvention of many of its downtown areas. Just a short drive from Orlando, Sanford is one city that has turned its downtown into a walkable and shoppable historic district, perfect for spending a day together. Stroll the brick streets and enjoy its 1920s architecture, antique shops, dining, and beautiful River Walk. Need a snack break? Pop into Wondermade, a local-based, handcrafted marshmallow business, grown from a hobby to a passion for making people happy through candy. Plan ahead and schedule a behind-the-scenes tour or have a seat and watch them create toasted marshmallows on a stick. Take time to check out other unique downtown spots including Sanford Brewing, Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe, and The Smiling Bison.

5.  Be a tourist
The great thing about living in a tourist destination is that you can take advantage of a wide variety of entertainment right at your doorstep. From food to shopping to entertainment, Icon 360 Orlando hits all the marks. Feeling adventurous? The 450 foot Star Flyer and 400 foot Icon Orlando fit the bill. Want something tamer? Arcade City and Sea Life Aquarium offer fun with your feet firmly planted on the ground.

These are just a few ways you can celebrate the city we love with someone special this Valentine’s Day. How are you planning on sharing #OrlandoLove this Valentine’s Day? No matter how you choose to spend it, living in Orlando makes it easy to plan a special day with the person you love.
