Ready, set, dance! The big Homecoming dance is just around the corner. Get your HOCO ensemble ready, it’s time to pick your floral. When it comes to corsages and boutonnieres, it can get a little tricky to pick the perfect pair. Don’t stress it, we’re here to help answer any of your questions!

Choosing floral color
Floral color does not necessarily need to be a perfect match to the dress. You don’t have to focus too much on a specific hue, contrast is key. No flower is ever the same as another, mother nature does a pretty good job with that. We believe that popping your accent colors brings personality into the whole ensemble. Wearing a purple dress? Accent it with yellow or gold floral accessories, or keep it classic with a neutral color palette. Our personal favorite is the Trendy Cuff Corsage. It’s white and gold tones are a great match to any look. Looking to customize? Give us a call and we will be happy to personalize any corsage and boutonniere! We have all accessories available in gold and silver, and a variety of flower colors to choose from.
When should I order by?
We recommend ordering at least one week before the dance, but we are always happy to make it happen in a shorter time frame or even the day of! However, if you would like to customize your design, two weeks is best so we can ensure we can get the exact products you’re looking for. We like to have plenty of time to make your design perfect.
Who should buy what?
Whoever is wearing the boutonniere should buy the corsage and the corsage wearer traditionally is the one who buys the boutonniere.
What side do you wear your corsage or boutonniere on?
The corsage should be worn on the left wrist and the boutonniere should be pinned on the left side of the lapel.
How to pin on a boutonniere:
Step 1: The best way to place the boutonniere on the lapel is to have the bottom of the stem in line with the top of the pocket. The greenery should be facing the inside of the suit and the flower should be slightly outward.
Step 2: Pinning pro tip: Hold the flower in place, lift the lapel and pin upwards.
Step 3: Push the pin back through the lapel on the top. Be extra careful doing this.
Step 4: Wiggle the boutonniere around to make sure it’s secure. For ultimate safety, repeat this process.
